Xtreme Veining (or XS Veining) is a dry-broadcast material used to create natural-looking veins similar to those that occur in stone. Use it to create colored veins in your precast countertop similar to limestone or marble, but in a variety of colors.

Xtreme Veining is designed to be placed into the wet edge of concrete during the pouring process of precast applications. Some have simply dusted it into a mold to create interesting color patterns throughout the surface of a cast concrete piece.

Xtreme Veining is single component, cement-based, and available in 30 colors to offer the a wide array of stone-like expressions. The synthetic iron oxide pigments are color-fast and UV stable. All ingredients are pre-blended into the quart jar for user–friendly application.

APPLICATION

Place Xtreme Precast mix in the bottom of the mold, adjacent to where you intend the vein to go. Once the location of the vein is determined, cast Xtreme Veining material by hand into the wet edge of the concrete, covering the entire area intended to have a vein. Sometimes a small chip brush will help to push excess material into the vein. Vacuum out or blow out with compressed air any excess veining material and pour concrete into the balance of the mold.

NOTE: Using a spray bottle with water, lightly mist the vein after vacuuming the mold. This will help to activate the cement in the vein.

In most cases the Xtreme Precast mix can be demolded in 4 hours. But this rapid set time is not found in the veining material. If the piece is demolded prior to 24 hours later, some parts of the vein may fall out. If this happens, use SureCrete Precast Slurry to effect repair of the vein.
